General Introduction
摘要
This first chapter gives a general overview of the book on ethical practices for sustainable construction digitalisation. The chapter gives insight into the need for ethical considerations when emerging digital technologies are deployed within construction organisations to achieve digitalisation. The use of these technologies implies that individual and project data would be gathered, stored, and analysed. Moreover, there will be technology-human interaction, and these technologies will also form the basis for making crucial decisions. Therefore, it is imperative to prioritise ethical considerations for the effective use of these technologies and for organisations to avoid the violation of rights, legislations and regulations. As such, this chapter establishes the development of a conceptual ethical practice framework that can drive effective and sustainable digitalisation within construction organisations. The chapter further delineates the book’s value to academics, organisations and regulatory bodies within the construction industry.
