Integration of the Electrowinning Process for Copper Recovery with Resin in Moist Mix Process
摘要
The process conditions for efficient copper recoveryCopper recovery from low-gradeGrade ores and fines are crucial for sustainable operationsOperation. This study employs an eco-efficient, novel Resin in Moist MixResin in moist mix (RIMM) process, integrating electrowinningElectrowinning to assess the impact of process parameters on copper recoveryCopper recovery. This work utilized the Design of ExperimentsDesign of experiment approach, where critical parameters such as currentCurrent density, copperCopper concentration, acid concentration, and deposition time were systematically analysed. It was observed that higher currentCurrent densities increased copper depositionCopper deposition rates, though at lower purity, whereas lower densities yielded higher purity copperCopper but at slower rates. Acid and copperCopper concentrations exhibited minimal impact on both purity and deposition rate, highlighting the dominant role of currentCurrent density. The study underscores the feasibility and optimizationOptimization potential of electrowinningElectrowinning for high-quality copper recoveryCopper recovery within the RIMM process.
