Subsurface Leaching of Copper Through Surfactant-Enhanced Acid Injection
摘要
Subsurface leachingSubsurface leaching (SSL) through direct injection of acid to underperforming parts of a copperCopper leach pad is well documented and proven effective at recovering metalsMetal. The potential of using leachingLeaching aids to enhance the rate and metalMetal removal in SSL has not been extensively explored. For this work, a leachingLeaching aid was added as a direct feed to injection wells used for SSL in a copperCopper leach pad. The effectiveness of the leachingLeaching aid was determined using solution samples and electrical resistivityResistivity geophysics along the surface. The addition of the leachingLeaching aid increased copperCopper gradesGrade compared to long-term injection without the leachingLeaching aid.
