This article explores the water scarcity and thus food security challenges faced by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region countries, particularly Qatar, providing some efficient solutions to effectively mitigate this issue. The arid climate and limited freshwater resources have necessitated innovative strategies for water management and agricultural sustainability. Reviewing the literature on recent scientific research and applying it to the ongoing food security project of the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) has helped explore the current state of water resources, the implications for food production, and the effectiveness of current food security initiatives in the context of Qatar. By analyzing policy frameworks, technological advancements, and regional cooperation efforts, this paper aims to identify key strategies for mitigating water scarcity and enhancing food security. The findings intend to inform future research and policy development, contributing to more resilient and sustainable solutions for the GCC's water and food challenges.
