The RayOne EMV by Rayner is a non-diffractive intraocular lens (IOL) with an aspheric surface which uses positive spherical aberrations to induce an extended depth of focus (EDoF) by spreading light along the visual axis. Using this principle, the IOL achieves a depth of focus of approximately +1.5 D and therefore can be termed as an extended depth-of-focus IOL. Within the development process of the RayOne EMV the IOL was specifically designed to be implanted in a monovision model to provide a blended vision. In a blended vision approach, patients achieve a higher defocus curve with a good intermediate and functional near vision.
