This chapter has been designed to be used as a tool to accompany the use of the identification key of Chap. 5. It presents the different cuticular and medullary shapes observed on dorsal guard hairs of the Canadian mammals. Similar shapes are presented side by side with pictures and corresponding drawings to help the reader to detect differences that may sometimes be very subtle.
