The increasing global incidence of cancer and associated mortality rates continue to challenge the biomedical community, necessitating innovative solutions. Recent advancements in digital health technologies (DHT) are transforming cancer care by improving screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI), genomics, wearable health devices, and telemedicine has enhanced early detection and personalized treatment strategies. These technologies facilitate real-time data sharing, radiological scans, liquid biopsies, targeted immunotherapy, and remote consultations, making cancer care more efficient. This review explores the role of DHT in enhancing cancer screening and early detection, emphasizing the importance of accurate precursor biopsy identification. Higher detection rates enable timely treatment, reducing invasive cancer cases and improving overall prognosis. Additionally, the paper discusses various imaging and molecular diagnostic tools, technological innovations, and mobile applications that support cancer prevention and management. Particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), DHT presents opportunities to improve healthcare access. However, to maximize its potential, stakeholders must address ethical considerations, liability, security, quality, equity, and reimbursement issues. Advancing research and implementing effective regulations are crucial to ensuring the successful integration of digital health technologies in cancer care.
