The purpose of this work is to identify and characterize the patterns of scientific and technological production and the entrepreneurial role of two universities of countries of the Global South: China and Mexico. The study is based on the trajectory of the Peking University (PU) and National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) and will be supported by the use of scientific and technological indicators such as publications and patent indicators and bibliometrics analysis. The main conclusion is that there is a scientific and technological pattern differentiated by the importance of academic entrepreneurship. In the Chinese university, a more visible trend of entrepreneurial role can be seen than in the Mexican university, which is reflected in its growing global scientific presence and also in its important inventive trajectory. In contrast, the Mexican university has an important scientific pattern, but not a significant inventive trajectory.

摘要
