In this chapter an overview is given of the field of social interaction through the lens of an adaptive dynamical system perspective. It briefly reviews relevant concepts and causal effects such as social contagion, homophily-induced bonding, synchrony-induced affiliation and bonding, multimodality, and multi-order adaptivity.
