A Human-Centered Design Framework for mHealth in Healthcare to Increase Healthy Aging
摘要
In underdeveloped nations, mobile health (mHealth) shows the opportunity to enhance access to healthcare. The rapid rise of mHealth has not been matched by an increase in design standards for mHealth applications. Services and operations in national healthcare systems must be adjusted to meet the needs of complex, aging populations with multiple health conditions and polypharmacy. Therefore, this chapter suggested a framework with the use of human-centered design to engage older persons and key professionals aimed at designing person-centered healthcare services and improving quality of life in aging population. The framework makes use of Information Systems Research (ISR) framework and design thinking to create mHealth applications for healthy elderly people. The framework can be used in the re-design of any mHealth applications in healthcare systems to improve the designing various applications related to medical services in an earlier stage of mHealth application design. This proposed framework should be put in considerations and factored into the development of successful strategies for assuring age-friendly healthcare services. The chapter believe that aging individuals and professional stakeholders should be involved early in the design process to align expectations and boost the possibility of successful execution of healthcare innovations that improve older adults’ quality of life.
