The increase in demand for sustainable and effective agricultural methods, leads to the development of autonomous robotic devices. One such device is Weed Rover equipped with advanced sensors, machine learning algorithms, and mechanical tools, which can identify and eradicate weeds in agricultural areas. They differentiate between weeds and crops using computer vision techniques, allowing for focused and accurate weed removal with minimal harm to plants. The Weed Rover’s autonomy reduces the need for human involvement, making it an economical and labour-saving alternative to traditional weed eradication methods. This technology combines robots, AI and agriculture, offering a new approach to weed control, with the technology expected to become increasingly essential as research refines and optimizes.
