Traumatic spinal cord injury may lead to debilitating gastrointestinal and genitourinary dysfunctions that may significantly affect the quality of life. This chapter deals with the challenges of managing neurogenic bowel dysfunction and neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction, which not only alter physical health but also negatively affect the quality of life. Through a blend of practical management suggestions and cutting-edge research, the authors offer essential insights into both the acute and long-term strategies to deal with these dysfunctions in a holistic approach, educate patients, restore dignity, and improve overall quality of life for people living with SCI.
