Merging Domains and Dimensions Within an Innovative Common Simulation of Autonomous Behaviors During Operations
摘要
The advent of next-generation Modelling and Simulation (M&S) has propelled the development of autonomous systems capable of operating over multi-domain environments impacting across multidimensions. This paper introduces the SYWOE (Synthetic War and Operation Environment) solution, developed by authors as an innovative simulation system that is consistent with new NATO guidelines for Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) across Physical, Virtual, and Cognitive dimensions. SYWOE leverages Reactive and Emergent Behaviors by Intelligent Agents (REB-IA) to simulate complex tactical scenarios autonomously, enabling operations across land, sea, air, space, and cyber domains. Central to SYWOE is its stochastic discrete-event Simulation Framework, which automates actions and reactions through Intelligent Agents (IA), considering human behavior models and cognitive aspects. This approach ensures rapid simulation execution, allowing extended periods of operation to be analyzed in minutes. The system’s interoperability supports integration with AI Engines, Data Link Connections, and real-world applications, enhancing strategic planning, wargaming, and Computer Assisted Exercises (CAX). SYWOE intuitive user interface, coupled with extended reality modules, provides an immersive experience for military training and decision-making. Favoring autonomous tactical behavior and strategic implementation, SYWOE represents a transformative step towards future-proofing NATO multi- domain operational capabilities, offering a comprehensive framework for autonomous systems strategy and concept development.
