Argentina, like most nations, faces the dual challenge of meeting its growing energy demands while simultaneously mitigating the adverse effects of climate change. As the global community increasingly turns towards sustainable energy sources, Argentina must develop a comprehensive strategy for transitioning its energy sector towards a more sustainable future. This chapter starts by examining the current situation and then moves towards the challenges and opportunities involved in developing a transition strategy, considering the country's unique economic context, natural resource endowment, and policy landscape. Drawing upon existing literature, case studies, and some qualified expert insights, the chapter provides recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders to navigate the complexities of the energy transition in Argentina.
