Carbon Pricing in Agriculture and Livestock
摘要
This chapter studies the role of the agricultural and livestock sector in climate change. This sector is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries, but adopting sustainable farming and livestock practices these emissions could be reduced significantly. The chapter highlights the large potential for storing carbon in soils, discussing the role of carbon offsets in a global carbon market. The chapter argues that agriculture and livestock are key to addressing climate change in Argentina and that the development of carbon markets is essential for making the most of this opportunity of reducing emissions.
