Smart City and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS): Ahead Towards Greener and Sustainable Future

A Smart City uses new technologies in adapting and sustaining everything in the buildings, including the infrastructure of Intelligent lighting, energy management, Artificial Intelligence, and IoT implemented in public transport systems. In the broad view of an intelligent transport system: it is one of the top elements of the intelligent transportation system integrated with the usage of technology into building adaptability and security in the flow of traffic. The concept of Smart Cities recently gained tremendous momentum because it came to realize that the creation of efficient, sustainable, and livable urban environments would require the integration of new technologies. Using an Intelligent Transportation System is one of the most transformational elements a Smart City can have for improving the flow of traffic, reducing congestion, and lessening the environmental impact. This manuscript reviews the development and effectiveness of Smart Cities, using ITS in driving economic progress with environmental sustainability. It examines; therefore, how technological transportation development serves as a critical building block toward a more intelligent or efficient ecosystem. Key areas derived from the research will describe how Smart Cities evolve to be part of urban life with great impact, how economies develop and become sustainable for intelligent transport systems, determination of components that configure smart mobility, and then study its contribution to attaining a low-carbon environment. It concludes that this paper is important in forming the integration of Smart Cities and ITS, which can represent a crucial step towards greener and more sustainable urban futures, wherein transport can play a vital role in mitigation strategies related to climate change and enhancing the quality of life. Intelligence transportation systems can change or make alterations to the way people travel to and from work in metropolitan regions. ITS offers a broad range of approaches to provide numerous advanced infrastructures, types of transportation and solutions of traffic mobility management.
