Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG 9) aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation as an important driver of economic growth and development. The analysis underscores the important role of SDG 9 in driving economic empowerment as well as economic and sustainable development more generally. It looks into the extent to which industry, innovation, and infrastructure are the pillars of job creation and connectivity. The report also reviewed targets falling under SDG 9, global-level synchronization, and interlinkages with other SDGs, besides discussing issues such as challenges regarding funding gaps and technology access, the need for sustainable industrialization, digital transformation, and resilient infrastructure.
