Ethics of Using AI in Writing Student Research Papers
摘要
The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) tools into the educational process raises new ethical issues, especially in terms of student research papers. Students are increasingly using AI to write essays, analyze data, and even generate hypotheses for their graduation theses. However, the lack of clear rules for the use of such technologies creates risks of academic dishonesty. The study is devoted to the ethics of using artificial intelligence in writing student research papers. The aim of the study is to develop a balanced approach to assessing the ethics of using AI in the educational process. The work analyzes the key issues associated with the use of AI in higher education institutions: plagiarism, transparency of methodology, and responsibility for the reliability of data. Data and cases from Russian and international practice are provided, and recommendations for integrating ethical norms into academic standards are offered. The approach is partly innovative, as it is based on the authors’ expanded interpretation of the ethics of using AI. The authors conclude that the ethical use of artificial intelligence in the educational process is possible provided that the necessary skills and competencies are developed, as well as subject to strict adherence to educational standards and principles of academic ethics. The analysis of the role of AI in writing student research papers remains the key aspect.
