A lot of drivers use GPS or GLONASS based tools to plan their routes in order to choose the optimal one. These GLONASS devices can work both in offline and online mode. In offline mode, when the device has a GIS database installed and there is no information about the actual traffic flow, the program always calculates the same route between two places. With access to up-to-date traffic flow information, it is possible to calculate the optimal route in real time. Based on the above parameters, the driver’s decision to choose a route can be static, dynamic or informed. Static decision means that the driver always follows the same route: either without using a GLONASS device (choosing the usual path) or with an autonomous device. Dynamic decision means that the driver chooses a route according to only visual information on the spot in real time without navigation aids or external information and makes a decision according to traffic density. Informed decision means that the GLONASS device calculates the optimal route according to current traffic flow information. The aim of this study is to present the impact of the ratio of different route choice decision making methods.
