Due to the current shortage of personnel on the Russian labor market, manufacturing companies are facing a critical challenge in finding ways to improve the production efficiency. One of the key approaches is to implement a set of methods aimed at increasing the labor productivity. To address this issue, innovative approaches and unconventional solutions are needed, including the widespread use of digital technologies. In this context, an imitative model of how extensive production growth affects the efficiency in the face of personnel shortages is considered. This model demonstrates the limited potential of traditional methods in achieving the desired level of economic growth in the current environment. In this context, a simulation model is proposed to investigate the impact of intensified production methods on the efficiency growth, considering the current shortage of personnel on the labor market. This model aims to examine challenges and benefits of implementing these methods within the economic development strategies of companies, as well as their potential to achieve strategic objectives. Special attention is given to the transformation in the professional workforce structure due to the evolving technological landscape in modern ecosystems. In light of this stage of innovative economic development, opportunities for enhancing the potential of digital transformation are explored in terms of strategically managing the professional composition of personnel within local ecosystems and various sectors of the national economy.
