Some Experience of Using Design Thinking in Teaching English to Students – Future Engineers
摘要
The research topic «engineering education» has always attracted and is attracting a lot of attention from specialists. As part of the discussion of this topic, one can observe the vector of discussion from humanization and humanitarization to the transformation of the educational landscape and the training of engineering personnel. The modern development of society, driven by automation, digitalization, and the spread of artificial intelligence, places great demands on engineers as specialists who create our environment. It is obvious that the marker of the quality of the educational process is the demand for graduates, their compliance with the requirements of the market situation and the satisfaction of employers. However, modern graduates-future engineers often have with them insufficiently developed engineering thinking, including systems thinking, creative thinking, innovative thinking, critical thinking, responsible and ethical thinking. Building learning based on design thinking can make the educational process more practice-oriented, as close as possible to professional activity, which contributes to the development of engineering thinking, including systems, creative, critical, responsible and ethical, promotes thinking in a voluminous and non-standard manner.
