Professional self-determination of students should begin as early as in the secondary school block. The process of professional self-determination is influenced by some factors. First of all, it is the social prestige of a profession and the level of labor remuneration. The main moment of professional orientation of schoolchildren is the creation of professional intentions and their motivation. Competently organized career guidance work of secondary vocational education, employers and school representatives helps choose the future profession correctly. Vocational guidance activities should be carried out on a regular basis. They include: talking to schoolchildren about the directions and profiles of training, online Olympiads, scientific conferences, various competitions, employers’ talks about existing professions, their demand at specific enterprises. The methods used help high school students with their professional self-determination. For effective management of the process of professional formation it is necessary to monitor factors that favorably and negatively affect this process, with subsequent analysis of the results and taking measures to stimulate favorable and eliminate or weaken the impact of negative. According to the research results, the student’s path, needs and expectations of students, channels and sources of information, groups of reference persons that can influence the student’s professional self-determination were determined. The conditions for professional self-realization of students in the chosen profession as a result of the study were formed.
