Although the evaluation of coins in terms of coin circulation in the region cannot provide definitive information, it contributes to the understanding of the political and economic history of the region. If we want to look at the coin circulation in the region through the coins preserved in the Çanakkale Museum, it would be appropriate to evaluate the bronze coin units by excluding the hoards. For this evaluation, 14 periods can be identified. In this evaluation a significant increase in the number of coins is observed in the third period (565–582). This indicates that the political and economic activity that started in the second period (527–565) continued to increase. It is understood that the region was prosperous in the second half of the sixth century.
