The aim of this paper is to investigate and enhance understanding of students? attitudes towards personal savings and to propose strategies for encouraging greater emphasis on personal savings among students in Malaysia. This research focuses on examining Malaysian students to identify methods for fostering their interest in personal savings for future benefits in adulthood. Employing a quantitative approach, the study utilizes a survey to gather data from a sample of 150 randomly selected Malaysian students. The research encompasses an exploration of personal savings habits among students across Malaysia, considering variations in age, ethnicity, and academic disciplines. Key factors under scrutiny include financial literacy, impulse buying, income levels, lack of access to financial institutions, and inflation rate. This research is one of the initial investigations within this specific area conducted with a random selection of Malaysian students, irrespective of their backgrounds.
