This study investigates the impact of leadership styles on employee motivation in a volatile and uncertain organisational context. Transformational and laissez-faire leaders were explored, and the results from 177 responses revealed that transformational leadership had the most positive impact on team motivation. This style is characterized by encouraging people to work towards a shared vision of the future, recognizing the need for employees to develop personally and challenging them to exceed their normal expectations. Laissez-faire leadership, characterized by low levels of intervention and active guidance, had a very weak negative correlation with motivation. The quantitative research supported the hypotheses concerning the leadership style effectiveness, and it was established that transformational leadership, in addition to producing effective results, enhances commitment and job satisfaction. The participants also stressed the significance of positive feedback, collaboration with colleagues, and involvement in decision-making as motivational factors. Furthermore, it was established that intrinsic motivation, that is, the motivation that comes from performing an activity and the recognition of performing the activity, is important in engaging employees. Therefore, this research helps to deepen the understanding of how different types of leadership affect the organisation's environment in uncertain conditions, and more specifically, how leaders can play a role in not only managing their teams, but also in inspiring and driving their teams to achieve their goals.
