In this chapter, we cover both the design and operational management of IoT products. An emphasis is placed on hardware quality and other aspects such as packaging and shipping. A process of initial device setup, from unboxing to Internet connection to personalization is described. Offline use of IoT products and customer support are considered as well. The chapter concludes with a set of best practices for software and hardware updates in the field.
