New Value Creation
摘要
Cloud is a double-edged sword and can be disruptive if not handled properly. It has the power to upend existing businesses, products, and use cases. Recall when a fax machine posed challenges to FedEx’s overnight shipping business for urgent document sharing the latter adapted by expanding its infrastructure to send large packages and survived this challenge. Similarly, Cloud offers alternatives to how the stakeholders exchange data and information. However, Cloud itself needs to evolve by adding security features, such as encryption so that mission critical data can be sent over public networks reliably and securely. Building new applications or migrating existing solutions to Cloud offers new opportunities to those who will adapt. We will study examples of Salesforce, Microsoft, and Netflix. Next, we also explore potential usage of domain-specific Small Language Models (SLMs). We examine the role and market forecasts for digital twins, and their relations to IoT-based products. We conclude this chapter with an AI-based Education Technology (EdTech) application, MyGooru.
