Emerging Approaches in Metabolic Imaging Using Photoacoustics
摘要
Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) can provide non-invasive, label-free visualization of biological tissue chromophores deep tissue. This chapter explores the field of metabolic imaging using PAI, highlighting its ability to quantify various metabolic chromophores, including lipids, glucose, and reactive oxygen species, providing a comprehensive metabolic profile. Furthermore, the diverse applications of these emerging PAI techniques in preclinical and clinical settings, including the study of cancer metabolism, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases were discussed. A highlight of the latest breakthroughs in PAI-based metabolic imaging, as well as future directions, is also presented. This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the transformative potential of PAI in advancing our understanding and management of metabolic diseases.
