Science education is a joyful home for many in Africa. It is the nursery for spawning those who are pillars of development in the region and who are envisaged as drivers of the African Union Agenda 2063- the Africa We Want. The science and technology (indigenously developed or “imported”) which serves as the engine of growth and the stimulant for food and nutrition security; quality healthcare; affordable housing; and efficient public transportation are products of the science education “home”. The history of this home in Africa, dates back several millennia, since the origin of the early humans in the eastern part of the region. In 1973 after three years of undergraduate education I was licensed with a bachelor’s degree to start building a home within this bigger home in science education. This chapter is the story of my home in science education over a 52-year period - from when I entered the secondary science classroom as a graduate teacher to three years after I retired as a full professor of science and computer education. The narrative is about milestones of success and failure, like a sinusoidal wave, in the delivery of science education in Nigeria.
