While in the midst of our professional and personal lives, childhood and family memories can be sources of inspiration and motivation. In this chapter, the author will highlight several aspects of a science and science education career that has spanned several places where good work was happening when even better professional and personal opportunities became available. The new opportunities were also instrumental in developing a rich and robust personal life for the author and his family. Food will be used as a metaphor for describing a life of contentment with current circumstances while also considering other affordances to live even more fully. The author will attempt to link food and a career in science, science education, and education in meaningful and instructive ways.
