Improving the Black Community Through a Career in Science Education Research: Advice to My Younger Self
摘要
This chapter is a first-person, autobiographical summary of the author’s career trajectory as a science education researcher. The author’s career is organized into four distinct phases and describes both professional and personal factors that influenced the transitions preceding each phase. The chapter concludes with four points of advice that the author would give to his younger self. This chapter is useful in that it provides a first-person account of some of the challenges that scholars may face throughout a career. It also foregrounds topics that are seldom discussed, yet salient for early and mid-career scholars.
