This chapter provides vignettes of the author’s sense of belonging, persistence, identity, and resilience related to her experiences as a Black female scientist and science educator. Her descriptions of events toward becoming a professor in science education are supported with claims and evidence from published literature. The author describes the challenges in her journey to “fit in” to a STEM-related career that she loves.
