Exploring Alternative Security Architectures for Improved Resilience Against Cyberattacks
摘要
The banking industry is now at the forefront of a digital transformation that is expected to significantly enhance the quality of banking products and services. The purpose of this research was to examine the increasing concern regarding cybersecurity incidents in banks and to assess the efficacy of the Zero-Trust Architecture (ZTA) as a solution. The research employed specific objectives to address the complex nature of the research by analyzing the cybersecurity landscape of banks, identifying the vulnerabilities and their impact on banks, and then evaluating how ZTA can be a potential solution. The necessity of integrating a mixed-methods approach was understood by the author. Essential respondents were selected for interviews, while a total of 100 respondents was deemed adequate for the quantitative research. This investigation has disclosed information regarding the specific categories of cybersecurity incidents that occur in the banking sector. The study has yielded several significant insights, including the prevalence of attacks, the risk posed by employee practices, the preparedness of banks in managing and recovering from cybersecurity incidents, and the potential of the ZTA as a viable solution.
