2015: Realignment Elections in the Midst of Crucial Events
摘要
Professor Gerasimos Moschonas, a Comparative Politics professor at Panteion University, discusses the double elections of 2015 and the July Referendum. Following the upheaval of 2012, we see a realignment and an initial but temporary stabilisation in 2015. This period was preceded by the three-party government of ND, PASOK, and DIMAR, the anti-memorandum front and its dynamics, and the rise of the far-right. In an exceptional discussion with Professor Moschonas, the rise of SYRIZA is explained, along with its strategic focus and the prolonged decline of PASOK. The election results are thoroughly analysed, including the geography of the vote and the interpretation of the Referendum’s outcome.
