Sizing of Storage Components and Hydrogen Tank for Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles
摘要
Fuel cell-hybrid electric vehicles have become one of the most promising alternatives for next-generation vehicles. The design of the hydrogen storage system is a very complex task that consists of defining the optimum of the weight, volume and cost. The influence of the hydrogen storage system size on the vehicle receives less attention in the literature. While the weight of the hydrogen storage tank increases the power and energy consumption, it is necessary to verify that the designed hybrid source can ensure the supply of the vehicle after the integration of the storage container and batteries. Also, these problems directly affect the vehicle’s performance, safety, compactness and consumption. This paper focuses on a detailed study of the storage tank, the fuel cell system, and battery pack sizing when the influence of the battery element technologies is tested and validated. The proposed sizing algorithms show satisfactory results compared to actual vehicle data.
