Photovoltaic Thermal Management Using Phase Change Material
摘要
Photovoltaics is an important technology for producing clean electricity. Photovoltaics can convert solar irradiance into electrical current; however, a portion of the solar irradiance is converted into heat, which raises the panel temperature and reduces its performance. To address this issue, proper cooling should be considered. This study investigates the cooling effect of phase change material on the temperature of a 5-watt photovoltaic panel. Results showed that the temperature of the photovoltaic panel can be reduced by a maximum of 8.6 °C while eliminating temperature fluctuations and maintaining temperature uniformity across the panel.
