Human-AI Collaboration and Culture For Equity and Inclusion (Half-Day Workshop)
摘要
As artificial intelligence (AI) moves beyond being a passive tool toward becoming an active teammate in learning environments, this workshop explores the opportunities and challenges of Human-AI teaming for fostering inclusive collaboration in education. Drawing from the Machines as Teammates (MaT) framework, we will discuss how AI can be designed not just to support learning tasks, but to function as an adaptive, equity-focused teammate that enhances group dynamics, mitigates bias, and fosters more equitable participation in collaborative problem-solving. The workshop will bring together AI researchers, educators, EdTech developers, and policymakers to examine key questions: What role should AI play in collaborative learning? How can AI teammates promote inclusion, especially in STEM fields where representation gaps persist? What ethical considerations must be addressed to ensure AI enhances rather than disrupts team dynamics? Through expert presentations, a panel discussion, and interactive breakout sessions, participants will explore design principles for AI teammates that support rather than replace human collaboration, with a focus on real-world educational applications. This workshop is designed for those interested in the intersection of AI, collaboration, and equity in education, and aims to drive forward a research and policy agenda on how AI teammates can shape the future of inclusive learning environments.
