What Are Intra-Abdominal Adhesions and What Are Their Causes? How Does This Influence Adhesion Prevention?
摘要
Intra-abdominal adhesions are a non-anatomical connection of organs that can be congenital but are much more commonly due to the effects of intra-abdominal surgery or disease. There is a strong idiosyncratic influence in the tendency to form adhesions that varies from one patient to another, and that is maximum in FAP patients with desmoid disease. In this chapter the nature of intra-abdominal adhesions and ways of minimizing their occurrence will be discussed.
