The globe is experiencing rapid technological advancements, making modern technology indispensable in everyday life. Technology integration into education has significantly improved and modernised conventional educational systems. Digital technologies have significantly impacted educational outcomes in higher institutions, altering the dynamics of teaching and learning. Adopting digital tools, online resources, and technology-enhanced teaching methods has drastically altered student engagement, accessibility, and overall learning effectiveness. This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital technology on teaching and learning practices at higher education institutions (HEIs) that offer construction education. To accomplish study aim, the study reviewed literature on integrating digital technology into pedagogy to assess its impact and challenges inside higher education institutions. This review consolidates key findings regarding the evolution of the Industrial Revolution and technological advancements, revealing that Soviet pedagogical methods are increasingly obsolete; it is peculiar to replicate a significant, intricate task manually or to employ a textbook that is obsolete from the previous century. It also emphasises the digital tools in higher education that can enhance teaching and learning in construction education.
