Exploring the Drivers, Barriers, and Implications of Digital Technology Adoption in South African Construction Firms’ Contractors and Consultants
摘要
Abstract. Compared to other sectors, the construction industry in both developed and developing countries is reportedly the slowest to embrace innovative approaches like digitalization. This lag is attributed to various factors that affect the acceptance and implementation of digital technologies. While numerous studies globally have explored technology acceptance in construction, few have provided a specific focus on the South African context. Without a clear understanding of these barriers, stakeholders lack the necessary insights to develop targeted interventions and strategies to facilitate digital technology adoption effectively. Furthermore, this paper also gives recommendation on how to promote the successful acceptance of digital technology.
