Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing, often known as ESG investing, is an investment strategy considering how a company’s operations and policies affect the environment, society, and corporate governance. ESG investment evaluates a company’s influence on society and the environment in addition to the standard financial study of its performance. The purpose of this study is to measure the performance of ESG investing in SAARC countries. This is done mainly through two focused studies. One study derives the empirical results of ESG investing in SAARC countries by analyzing data obtained from the MSCI ESG Leaders Factsheet and Bloomberg. Through this study, we aim to measure how effectively ESG investing is being adopted in each SAARC country. The second study measures ESG scores using the MSCI index. This study lays out the blueprint to help investors examine their investments’ sustainability performance. This study will enable the investors within the various SAARC countries to compare the ESG score with the MSCI index and see how better they can perform than other countries. The results of this study illustrate the significance of ESG aspects in investment decisions and corporate sustainability and have substantial implications for investors, politicians, and businesses in SAARC countries.
