Lasers in Plastic Surgery
摘要
Laser is an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation, which becomes a self-explanatory moniker for a laser’s function. Lasers can be powerful tools for the plastic surgeon in the treatment of cutaneous lesions that may be congenital, acquired, or due to the normal effects of aging. Lasers are most well-known for use in hair removal, tattoo removal, treatment of scars, vascular lesions, and facial resurfacing for facial aging. In this chapter, we will discuss laser basics, common types of lasers in practice, and treatment of different cutaneous pathologies with different lasers.
