Facial Analysis
摘要
Understanding the structure of the human face and its key components is crucial to any facial operation performed in plastic surgery, be it reconstructive or cosmetic in nature. The human face and its expressions are important for interpersonal communication and self-confidence that can impact the way an individual lives and functions in human society regardless of geographic location. The face also functions as a crucial component of maintaining human life in that parts of the face are the primary vector of multiple senses (i.e., sight, smell, hearing and taste) as well as crucial to the exchange of air as well as nutrient consumption. The goal of facial plastic surgery is to either restore or improve facial anatomy and/or physiology based on a deep understanding of both cultural and practical functions of the human face.
