In this chapter I engage the idea of aesthetics as a reflection of the good within a community and with the anchor organization that assists residents or members. I engage the idea of aesthetics as a discipline within the humanities and introduce several variations to a commonly accepted aesthetic that may stand as normative. I underscore the importance of alternative aesthetics that facilitate self-expression at individual, group, and cultural levels. An alternative aesthetic can emerge as a form of dissent in which people resist or otherwise oppose the prevailing aesthetic. This dissent is an important factor in social change. I also suggest what I call a negative aesthetic in which people experience degraded situations or contexts. Within the chapter, I offer a framework of community aesthetics in preparation for readers to engage the fictional account. The community aesthetic is a product of multiple dimensions that blend to bring about satisfaction in community living among residents or members. The blending of these dimensions, quality of environment, quality of infrastructure, standard of living, quality of day, and quality of life express the overall aesthetic of the community I portray in the fictional account.
