This chapter executes an analytical process of elimination by considering the historical development of the scientific demarcation problems, evaluating all the main previous scientific demarcation proposals, and explaining why each of those proposals is unsatisfactory or incomplete. It then presents a comprehensive scientific demarcation project in which, among other contributions, the proposals incipiently put forward by Mahner (2013) and Hansson (2013) are theoretically elaborated on, expanded, developed, and adjusted up to the point at which they are ready for execution.

摘要

This chapter executes an analytical process of elimination by considering the historical development of the scientific demarcation problems, evaluating all the main previous scientific demarcation proposals, and explaining why each of those proposals is unsatisfactory or incomplete. It then presents a comprehensive scientific demarcation project in which, among other contributions, the proposals incipiently put forward by Mahner (2013) and Hansson (2013) are theoretically elaborated on, expanded, developed, and adjusted up to the point at which they are ready for execution.
