Sustainable Workplace Wellness Strategies: Bridging the Gap Between Policy and Practice
摘要
Workplace wellness has emerged as a pivotal factor in enhancing employee well-being and organizational performance. Despite the widespread adoption of wellness policies, a significant gap exists between policy formulation and practical implementation, often leading to suboptimal outcomes. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of workplace wellness initiatives, identify barriers to their implementation, and propose sustainable strategies to bridge this gap. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines qualitative insights from semi-structured interviews with HR managers and quantitative data from employee surveys across five industries: IT, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and retail. Key findings reveal that industries with higher employee awareness and participation in wellness programs, such as IT and healthcare, report enhanced satisfaction and productivity. However, challenges such as insufficient managerial support, inadequate funding, and limited awareness hinder effective implementation in other sectors. The analysis highlights effective practices, including regular feedback mechanisms, employee incentives, and leadership role modelling. Furthermore, the study emphasizes sustainable strategies like personalized wellness plans, technology integration, and a holistic approach addressing physical, mental, and financial well-being. Sustainable practices aligned with ESG goals, such as eco-friendly office spaces and community health drives, are recommended to ensure long-term success. The outcomes of the study indicate that robust wellness programs can reduce absenteeism, improve employee satisfaction, and enhance organizational reputation. Policy recommendations include mandatory managerial training, government incentives for wellness investments, and standardized national guidelines for workplace wellness. The research emphasizes the significance of integrating policy and practice through sustainable wellness practices, thereby promoting employee well-being and organizational growth.
