Traumatic Dental Injuries (TDIs) to permanent teeth pose significant long-term challenges due to the potential for unpredictable healing that necessitates treatment which extends beyond the initial management. This chapter outlines the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment strategies for sequelae of TDIs, such as pulp necrosis, root resorption and its types, and pulp canal obliteration. The progression of these conditions depends on the type and severity of the initial trauma, the stage of root development, and the timing of intervention. Early detection and timely endodontic management can improve the survival of the traumatized tooth. For sequelae such as continued replacement resorption or loss of tooth, surgical treatment such as decoronation or autotransplantation is essential to preserving alveolar bone, especially in growing children.
