Managing the Immature Tooth: Apexogenesis, Apexification, and Regenerative Endodontics
摘要
The contemporary strategies for management of traumatized or carious immature permanent teeth use the regenerative potential of the pulp and periapical cells that encourage continued root development. In a vital immature tooth, apexogenesis is achieved with Indirect Pulp Treatment, Direct Pulp Capping, and partial or Cvek’s pulpotomy. In non-vital teeth, root maturation is encouraged with Regenerative Endodontic Procedures (REP) or a one-step MTA apexification depending on the stage of root development. This chapter highlights the indications, techniques, and varied outcomes for vital and non-vital endodontic therapies in immature permanent teeth.
