Currently, in many rural communities, ethnomedicinal knowledge of honeybee flora is used to treat various ailments. Plant materials have been employed in traditional ethnomedicine by indigenous peoples for decades. However, research on the honey flora utilized in traditional medicine is limited. Furthermore, honey-related traditional medicinal knowledge (TMK) is still poorly explored. Honeybee floral species that include TMK serve a vital role in the conservation and growth of beekeeping. The aim of this chapter was to collect, identify, and explore ethnomedicinal applications of bee-foraged plants, phytochemical constituents, and their health benefits for various disease treatments. This chapter explored the comprehensive documentation on medicinal aspect of honeybee floral species from arid regions was provided about their geographical distribution, phenology, habitat, were studied and field collections (photographic records) were made used by Apismellifera by documenting local peoples. Further study of foraging behavior and nectar production would be extremely beneficial in determining the exact honeybee floral potential of these plants and their significance. Honeybee flora will continue to provide an indefinite quantity of products that serve as food for people and have the potential to contribute to food security because of their economic relevance. Therefore, this chapter highlights current information on ethnomedicinal studies of melliferous flora, with a focus on its usage as food and medicine. Further experimental studies on the identified honey plants would help to unveil their benefits and extract active ingredients, which would lead to synthetic drug development used for commercial purposes in the market.
