This chapter discusses the various entities involving the oropharynx, hypopharynx, and upper esophageal sphincter and confronting the onco-neuro-gastroenterologist who is called upon to evaluate symptoms suggestive of sensory-motor gastrointestinal disorder, such as pain, dysphagia, and resulting nutritional difficulties. Understanding and managing these conditions requires continuous exchange with oncology, head and neck surgery, radiation oncology, and speech therapy.
